Each year, Safe Kids Upstate hosts “Safe Kids Fest,” an event that teaches children
safety practices through fun, interactive exhibits, reaching thousands of children
and their parents annually. Read more about our 2007 Safe Kids Fest.
Over 6,000 children throughout the Upstate visit the Fest each year with their
teachers, parents and grandparents to learn about safety and injury prevention.
As they visit over 20 interactive exhibits, each child receives important safety
information and takes home safety-related giveaways.
The event involves over 70 community partners and over 500 volunteers. During
the event, more than 600 bike helmets, 2,000 photos with Buddy Bear, 3,000 Sponge
Bob’s First Aid Kits, 350 gun locks, and thousands of other safety reminders are
distributed.
Special features of the Fest include the annual mascot parade, kids safety quiz
contest, Scout Day, and the interactive computer boat safety game.
